Forbes contributor Jenn Choi has compiled a list highlighting The Toys To Watch in 2016 based on product demonstrations seen at the North American International Toy Fair, the Chicago Toy and Game Fair, or via video demo.

Choi describes CHiP as being "adorably designed" with more than one smart feature, including his recharge station:

The dog even has his own “bed” and he will go there on his own to charge himself, no reminder necessary. That means he’s always on.

Choi also suggests that CHiP, along with other upcoming WowWee products including COJI, R.E.V. Air, and LUMI, make WowWee "The toy company to watch this holiday season".
